I don't believe in Caste System - If you are using the term 'chamar' the great saint Ravidass Ji said, 'Kahai Ravidass kalas chamara jo ham shahry so meet humara.' - I am that 'kalas' pure 'chamar.' But my religion is Ravidassia.
A chamar is a cobbler and as far as I know my family have been farmers for at least 2 generations. My father owns land, hence he must be a jat? anyway Im a dentist by trade and Ravidassia by religious identity. The only way to get out of the stigma is to tell our youth to get educated and to become professionals or businessmen/women. Financial security will dilute this fucked up caste system.
